My client is a Civil Engineering Tier Two subcontractor who also act as a main contractor on various projects. They currently operate in 8 countries and have a turnover of £250M. They work primarily on major infrastructure projects providing groundworks and civil engineering expertise. Sectors include residential, commercial, public, technology, infrastructure and data centre markets offering a broad range of services including civil engineering, utilities and construction.
About the role
As an Estimator, you will be required to provide competitive tenders for a variety of projects including data centres, large civils and infrastructure projects. You will be working in an award winning Estimating team of 8 and you will be reporting into the Senior Estimator. You will be joining a very successful and hard working team but they also like to have fun and create a good working atmosphere. Your work will be focussed on structures, cladding and roofing as well as working on groundworks, utilities and foundations for a varied client base. You will need to have experience working on tenders over £1M. This role will be suitable for someone who has a strong utility and construction background. There will be scope for career progression in the role with a company that has an excellent reputation in the industry and is very forward thinking. This role is ideally to be based out of the Kent office but there is an option to be based out of the London office with one day a week in Kent.
Rewards and benefits
You will be joining a company with an excellent reputation and will be rewarded with a competitive salary of between £70,000 and £90,000 depending on experience. The position will include healthcare and pension contribution.
Requirements
You will be degree qualified and have an excellent knowledge of the utility and major infrastructure sector. You will need to have experience of above ground projects including buildings, structural frames and be well versed in Architectural cladding on these types of projects. Experience with MEP is also preferable as is experience working on data centre projects. A minimum of 3 years experience in an Estimator role is required as is a working knowledge of estimating software. They would be open to someone from an engineering background who is looking to move over to the estimating side of the industry
