About the Role
As an apprentice, you will support our Climate Change and Sustainability team while studying for your degree. Your tasks will include:
* Assisting with various sustainability projects across transport, built environment/energy, resources/waste, communities/economy, and natural capital themes.
* Conducting research, data collection, and analysis.
* Engaging with teams, partners, and community organizations.
* Supporting administrative tasks linked to the Sustainable Futures programme.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a dynamic environment. You will work towards a Level 6 Environmental Practitioner degree apprenticeship, combining academic learning with practical work, and you will be supported in your studies by our university partner Coventry University to achieve your degree.
Key Requirements
Essential Criteria:
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office and email.
* Ability to organize your workload and meet deadlines.
* Willingness to learn and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
* Minimum of five GCSEs at grades 9 – 4 / A* - C, including English and Maths.
* Either three A-levels (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications) or a relevant Level 3 Technician Apprenticeship – minimum of 112 UCAS points required.
* A strong interest in climate change and sustainability.
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous work experience in a related field or office environment.
* Participation in extra-curricular activities like Duke of Edinburgh Award, Cadets, National Citizenship Service, or charity work.
* Knowledge of and interest in working for Warwickshire County Council and/or public services.
