Business Development Manager – Battery Recycling & Logistics
My client is a leader in battery recycling and resource recovery, is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to drive growth and strategic partnerships in the UK and EU. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of the circular economy, engaging with key industry players in the battery sector.
The Role:
Reporting to the Director, Head of European Upstream Sales, the Business Development Manager will focus on two key areas:
* Developing and managing compliance scheme contracts in the UK (covering all battery types).
* Expanding access to Li-ion batteries for recycling through partnerships with OEMs, battery manufacturers, collectors, and waste battery producers across the UK and EU.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of regional sales strategies to expand key account relationships.
* Develop and implement customer key account plans, setting financial growth targets and aligning with technical, marketing, and operational initiatives.
* Manage commercial negotiations with both existing and prospective partners.
* Deliver market and customer insights to strengthen business integration and long-term cooperation.
* Drive the growth of existing accounts and acquisition of new customers and suppliers.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders across commercial, logistics, finance, and operations teams to exceed customer expectations.
* Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities.
* Stay up to date with evolving industry standards and regulations.
Candidate Profile:
* Degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in a relevant technical or business discipline.
* Proven experience in B2B sales and business development in recycling, batteries, or metals industries.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills with a results-driven mindset.
* Industry network in waste, recycling, or logistics is highly beneficial.
* Understanding of battery technologies in production or recycling is an advantage.
* Ability to develop profitable solutions for complex commercial challenges.
* Strong commitment to HSE and quality standards.
* Experience working in a multicultural team environment.
