Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated Learning Mentor for a supportive secondary school in Tameside. This role involves working closely with students who need extra guidance to achieve academic success and personal growth. As a Learning Mentor, you will help students overcome learning obstacles, build self-confidence, and develop essential study skills.
Responsibilities:
* Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring to students, offering encouragement and strategies to help them excel in their studies.
* Collaborate with Teaching Staff: Work alongside teachers to identify students in need of additional academic and emotional support.
* Goal Setting and Progress Tracking: Assist students in setting academic and personal development goals, monitor their progress, and offer ongoing motivation and feedback.
* Foster Positive Relationships: Build trusting relationships with students, parents, and school staff to support a collaborative, encouraging school community.
* Motivational Programs: Help coordinate study skills workshops and motivational programs that empower students to take ownership of their learning.
Candidate Requirements:
We’re looking for a candidate with experience in education, youth work, or mentoring. Strong communication, patience, and empathy are essential, as well as a passion for nurturing student success. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
