An opportunity has arisen at Furness General Hospital for a Non Clinical Support Worker on ward 4.
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust provides acute hospital care to the local population. We invite candidates who want to help us make a difference for our patients.
Main duties of the job
You will work in conjunction with all staff to maintain a clean and safe environment and ensure housekeeping jobs are completed satisfactorily.
* To co-ordinate all patient facilities services within the ward area
* To ensure that the ward is a safe, clean, tidy and comfortable environment
* Ensure that food is available to meet the patients’ needs
* Assist the ward staff to receive, welcome and guide patients and visitors onto the ward
* Assist in the cleaning of equipment
* Assist in the preparation of bed areas on discharge of patients
* Assist nursing staff with the feeding of patients who are unable to do so for themselves and complete food charts where necessary
* Ensure all patients are afforded privacy and dignity throughout their stay
* Ensure that there is an adequate linen supply throughout the day
* Stock control and ordering of sundries and consumables
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre.
