Afton Chemical Ltd is a major independent supplier of lubricant and fuel additives to the oil industry and part of the worldwide NewMarket Corporation. Our lubricant and fuel additives are among the most highly developed and widely used in the petroleum industry. We are looking for an experienced candidate who has worked within a regulartory environment to analyse and report data remit to ensure company sustainability practices are aligned to regulatory requirements. This is an full time office based role Location: Bracknell (UK) or Richmond, Virginia (USA) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE BS in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business or a related field Revenant experience working in a regulatory environment Project management experience; including planning, executing, and monitoring Strong data analysis experience SKILLS/ABILITIES: Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting ESG data, LCA data, and greenhouse gas emissions. Project Management: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor sustainability projects effectively. Reporting and Disclosures: Ability to formulate disclosures in keeping with the company’s values within ESG reporting frameworks such as CSRD, GRI, or SASB. Scenario Analysis: Evaluating potential future scenarios to inform strategic decision-making, applying the latest science and insights on impacts, risks and opportunities. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with stakeholders Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data management tools and software used in sustainability reporting. Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and pragmatically about sustainability challenges. Regulatory: Understanding of relevant environmental laws and regulations. Engineering: Understanding of engineering concepts within a chemical manufacturing context to allow for guidance, judgement and improvements Develop and manage ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data and projects Handle disclosures, including CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) Manage LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) data: Collect and analyze data related to the environmental impacts of products or services Oversee Scope 1, 2, and 3 corporate data: Monitor and report on the company's direct (Scope 1), indirect (Scope 2), and value chain (Scope 3) Conduct scenario analysis: Evaluate potential future scenarios to assess the risks and opportunities related to climate change and other sustainability factors Analyse Scope 1 and 2 improvement projects Plan for transitions: Develop and implement strategies to transition the company towards more sustainable practices Perform nature and biodiversity site assessments to evaluate impact on local ecosystems and biodiversity
