We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Educational Psychologist to join our Education, Inclusion and Achievement Service at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
Our SEND Service is committed to rebuilding a strengthened Educational Psychology Service within Stockton-on-Tees to support early intervention, consultation and support for all children and young people with SEND within the borough.

In this role, you will:
4. Lead and manage the team of Educational Psychologists and Assistant EPs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychological services to children, families and schools
5. Provide strategic direction and vision for the service, aligning with the Council’s policies and objectives
6. Conduct psychologist assessment and interventions, offering advice to educational settings
7. Invest in multi-agency collaboration in line with the strategic vision in Stockton-on-Tees
8. Promote evidence-based practice to contribute to the development of policies and procedures
You will receive excellent support from the Assistant Director for Education, Inclusion & Achievement and join a welcoming, supportive senior management team.
We are keen to hear from individuals with the following skills and experience:
9. A relevant qualification at graduate/post graduate level.
10. HCPC registration
11. Significant experience as a practicing Senior EP or Main scale EP within a Local Authority
12. Management or leadership experience
13. The ability to create and develop strong working links with strategic partners and stakeholders
14. Extensive knowledge of Educational Psychology standard and practice requirements including guidance, policy, legislation and current best practice
15. Detailed knowledge of SEND legislation and practices associated with Educational Psychologists and the Local Authority
