The Role:
Your role is to prepare the Annual Report and Financial Statements for a portfolio of pension scheme clients, ensuring they meet the latest regulatory requirements and industry best practice, and to prepare quarterly management information tailored to meet the specific requirements of each client.
In performing this role, you will be expected to:
* Collate, analyse and reconcile accounting records, e.g. cashbooks, investment manager reports.
* Prepare/review accounts disclosures to ensure they meet the requirements of the pension’s statement of recommended practice.
* Oversee the work of more junior members of the pension’s accounts preparation team, assisting with their development and providing on the job training where appropriate. Ensuring:
o Work is planned and performed in sufficient detail and in accordance with agreed timetables.
o Working papers are clear, concise and comply with Crowe's processes and standards.
* Build and maintain client relationships.
o Be the main point of contact for clients.
o Oversee correspondence between more junior members of the team and client/third party advisers.
* Liaise with scheme auditors during the annual audit process.
* Show initiative and a willingness to take responsibility for ownership and completion of each accounting assignment within the agreed budget and deadlines set.
* Adhere to deadlines and keep the manager always informed of progress.
* Keep technically up to date.
* Be willing to undertake additional duties as reasonably required.
Specialist/technical knowledge and experience
* Qualified AAT, ACA, ICAS or ACCA.
* A good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
* Strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
* Good communication skills.
* Knowledge and experience of pension fund sector and the Pensions SORP is an advantage, although not essential.
