MBP Door Solutions is the largest independent stockist of fire and non-fire doors in the UK. Founded in 1991, the company’s success is built on providing market-leading door solutions for its customers through its seven regional distribution branches and its responsive manufacturing capabilities. We provide standard and bespoke doors, pre-hung doorsets, door kits, timber screens, and fire, smoke and acoustic door sealing products to house builders, contractors, developers, builder’s merchants, public sector organisations and tradespeople. Primary objective of this position: Lead, implement and promote the company’s environmental strategy, ensuring that the strategy aligns with our business and customer objectives. Work alongside the Sales and Marketing team to create internal documentation and external material for customer's use. Responsible for adopting sustainable practices and ensuring compliance with environmental standards. Support the business in the goal of becoming ISO14001 accredited. Key responsibilities and performance measures for this role: Strategy Development Develop and implement comprehensive environment and sustainability strategies aligned with the company’s goals, identifying opportunities to enhance environmental performance with a focus on reducing carbon footprint. Programme Management Lead and manage environmental and sustainability initiatives. Track and report progress in these metrics regularly. Compliance and Reporting Ensure compliance will all relevant environmental regulations and standards. Prepare and present reports to senior management and external stakeholders. Work with stakeholders to satisfy customer compliance documentation. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal teams to integrate sustainable practices into operations. Engage with external customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies to enhance the company’s environmental efforts. Innovations and Continuous Improvement Remain current with trends, technologies and best practices in environmental performance and efficiencies. ISO 14001 Accreditation Develop a roadmap for achieving ISO 14001 certification. Conduct gap analysis to assess current environmental practices against ISO 14001 requirements and develop and implement an Environmental Management System (EMS) that aligns with ISO 14001 standards. Coordinate internal audits and management reviews to assess EMS effectiveness. Liaise with external auditors and certification bodies to ensure successful accreditation. Minimum Qualifications / Experience required: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within Manufacturing Strong understanding of environmental regulations relevant to the manufacturing sector Proven track record of achieving ISO 14001 certification in a similar role Key behavioural competencies: Excellent project management and organisational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to conduct environmental audits and risk assessments Confident with liaising with external key accounts Reporting to and their job title: Commercial Director Number of reports: None Location: Great Bridge.
