Job Purpose: To increase guest satisfaction by providing prompt, efficient, trouble-free, and courteous food and beverage service connected with meeting and greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guests receive a four-star Roe Park Resort experience.

About the Role
Responsibilities:
1. Provide efficient, prompt, trouble-free, and courteous service.
2. Ensure that the service is performed in a professional manner as specified by the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor.
3. Be fully conversant with every menu item and provide explanations as requested.
4. Ensure that all guests’ wishes are met as reasonably possible.
5. Communicate with other staff and departments.
6. Accurately record, pre-check, and pick up all food and beverage orders.
7. Serve guests their food and beverage promptly and courteously.
8. Set tables as needed prior to guest arrival.
9. Ensure the working area and station are stocked and kept clean and tidy.
10. Promote additional sales by taking opportunities to up-sell in a professional manner.
11. Be familiar with all equipment relating to the Restaurant.
12. Confers with the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor concerning set-ups and last-minute changes.
13. Report all comments/complaints/problems to the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor.
14. Provide service of food and beverage to guests at weddings, functions, private dinners, etc.
Knowledge of Restaurant Products, Technology, and Equipment
1. Be fully conversant with the Restaurant POS (point of sale) system.
2. Operate credit card machines and other key equipment.
3. Have a good understanding of all items contained within the menus and wine lists.
4. Have knowledge of the products the Hotel offers.
Security, Hygiene, Health & Safety
1. Acknowledge HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
2. Be responsible for cleanliness of all items and equipment in your work area.
3. Adhere to HOTEL policy on grooming, dress code, personal hygiene, body language, and conduct.
4. Understand cash handling procedures.
5. Report any suspicious behaviour of guests and staff to the Manager and security.
6. Ensure that all discrepancies in cash are reported to the Manager/Supervisor.
7. Maintain high confidentiality regarding guest privacy.
8. Notify Manager regarding lost and found property.
9. Report all potential and real hazards immediately.
10. Understand the Hotel’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures.
11. Work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others.
Miscellaneous
1. Assist the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor when requested.
2. Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
3. Accept a flexible work schedule required for restaurant and hotel operations.
4. Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language, and conduct.
5. Assist other departments when required.
6. May be required to carry out additional duties not listed to suit business demands.

Desired Criteria:
* Food Handlers Certificate.
* First Aid Certificate.
* One year’s previous experience in a public-facing position.
* Experience of cash handling.
* Ability to operate a computerized Cash Register.
