An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Neonatal Unit for Band 5 staff nurses. We are looking for skilled, dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic nurses who are keen for new challenges and would be interested in working as part of the Neonatal team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust.
We require a qualified Band 5 with a passion for providing excellent care for Cornwall's most vulnerable families on the Neonatal Unit. Education and training opportunities will be available as well as constant professional development within a supportive team.
We are proud to be part of the UK's first Simulation study days and have regular SIMS on a weekly basis within the department.

Main duties of the job
1. To work as a skilled member of the nursing team within the Neonatal Unit and providing a high standard of holistic family integrated care.
2. To act as a role model and clinical expert practitioner.
3. Ability to promote family centred care and establish good relationships with babies and their families.
4. To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
5. Work with the Community Neonatal Outreach Team to support families in preparation for discharge.
6. To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.
7. To act as a named nurse for patient care on the Neonatal Unit to Transitional Care to support families with a smooth discharge care pathway.
8. Ensure safe provision of care through the Neonatal Unit.
9. Deliver high standards of compassionate, dignified care, managing their time accurately and efficiently in cooperation with other staff members, tasks and resources.
10. Undertake training, assessment and facilitation of peers and staff.
11. Work within the boundaries of existing competence, adhering to local and national protocols / standard operating procedures.
