EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As our Environmental Advisor you’ll ensure successful management of our environmental permits including discharge consents. You’ll also deliver our permit review programme, investigating sources of pollutants (including PFAS) and assessing environmental impacts to engage with the Environment Agency (EA).
The other key accountabilities of the role are:
1. Lead on the delivery of our Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR) permit review programme and undertake site surveys, identifying potential sources of pollutants to determine the extent of required environmental monitoring.
2. Responsible for organising required monitoring through liaising with our contracted sampling and analysis providers; share monitoring programme plans with senior stakeholders including the EA.
3. Water quality data analysis, conceptualisation and visualisation. Also risk assessing existing discharges and liaise with the EA around permit requirements.
4. Manage and maintain reporting of programme delivery between Operations, Environment Agency and DIO (Defence Infrastructure Organisation).
5. Actively monitor environmental performance parameters, collate environmental performance information and create reports to communicate to the senior leaders.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To succeed in this role, you’ll have knowledge and understanding of Permitting Regulations (EPR) and have excellent data skills in analysing, visualising and interpreting data. You’ll also have relevant experience in an environmental discipline environmental chemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology, water management or similar.
In addition, you’ll have strong experience in use of MS Office tools (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of GIS packages, such as ArcGIS and have great communication and stakeholder management skills.
As travel is required, you’ll be required to hold a full driving licence.
