The Community School of Auchterarder
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Resource Assistant (LRA) to join our small Learning Resource Centre team and, working as part of our wider school team, to support learning and teaching of our primary and secondary pupils.
Please note that this is initially a fixed term post and is currently temporary until August 2025.
The Learning Resource Assistant post-holder will report to the Senior Learning Resource Assistant.
LRA role is varied and may include:
* Supporting learning and teaching within the LRC and across the school, with a particular emphasis on supporting the development of core learning skills and the use of ICT based resources and information.
* Organisation of the resources, facilities and services of the LRC to allow flexible access and use for curricular activities, study support, independent and recreational use.
* Supporting and promoting reading for enjoyment.
About the School
The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district.
We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across all three sectors.
The school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the central belt.
Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford and Dunning.

Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
* A genuine interest in the development of children and their wellbeing.
* An ability to engage with and manage groups of young people effectively within a school context.
* An ability to think creatively to support reluctant readers.
* Experience of working within a library, resource centre or information service, ideally with young people, in a school or other education setting.
* Knowledge and experience of using essential skills for information searching and use, including ICT.
* An ability to work both individually and as a member of a team.
