Our client, a leading company in the FMCG, Automation, and Manufacturing sector, is seeking a skilled Hardware Design Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. As the Hardware Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of hardware design and build for control system and safety projects.
Role Summary:
As the Hardware Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and developing a team of engineers to deliver hardware design and build for control system and safety projects. Your main goal will be to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard. You will also be in charge of supporting the welfare of your team, providing line management responsibilities, and developing and enhancing the team structure in line with resourcing and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and support the welfare of the team, ensuring everyone is working towards the same objectives.
2. Line management responsibility for team members, including training and personal development plans, appraisals, and ensuring the team meets stakeholder requirements.
3. Develop and enhance the team structure to align with resourcing and business needs.
4. Generate and manage internal standards and procedures, ensuring their correct use within the business.
5. Monitor and ensure compliance with international standards.
6. Foster successful collaboration between different teams within the business.
7. Coordinate resource allocation within the team to maintain support for project managers.
8. Ensure timely and compliant delivery of projects.
9. Lead efforts to improve Quality Systems and Standards.
10. Design and test control systems in accordance with specifications and applicable standards.
11. Adhere to relevant Health and Safety Procedures.
12. Maintain company records and ensure the safe operation of equipment.
13. Follow and develop relevant business procedures.
14. Resource planning and coordination for current and future projects.
15. Contribute to meetings and decision-making processes as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
16. Carry out other duties as required and appropriate to the role.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Qualified to HNC / HND / Degree level in a relevant discipline and 10 years' experience in system integration OR 15 years' experience in systems integration with lower qualifications.
- High level of ability to understand and produce control system design documents.
- Relevant technical qualifications required by specialism.
- Demonstrated technical and commercial experience across a range of market sectors and technologies.
