About the Role
An exciting opportunity has come up for a 6-month fixed term contract in our small, dedicated and busy Information & Analytics team, who put data at heart of what we do. You will be supporting the Council to make evidence-based decisions and policies by using business intelligence tools.
You will lead and monitor the Dashboard development programme, working with all levels of management. You will set example on data analysis and promote ‘data-led decision making’ approach across the Organisation. You will support and mentor the junior team members with their strategic evidence gathering and report writing.
It is a fast-paced department where we often must adapt to higher priority workload interrupting our core work. We are a central team that supports the organisation to achieve its strategic priorities, which is challenging but rewarding.
This is a full-time position on a fixed term, 6-month contract.

About You:
You will have excellent data analysis and visualisations skills, particularly using Python, MS Excel and MS Power Bi. You will have experience of working in a data-centric environment, preferably in local government, where you have used data to provide insights. You will also have a degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, maths or data science.
You will have experience of presenting data to a range of audiences, including internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will have excellent communication skills and knowledge of stakeholder management tools and techniques. You must be able to work alone and with a team, and able to manage your own projects whilst updating management and stakeholders regularly, and effectively.
This role is covering an existing post, which you will work alongside. This is the ideal opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience of a more senior role, whilst working in a supportive environment.
Selection Process:
