We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join an established and growing Residential Developer based in Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Feasibility Studies
o Conduct feasibility studies to assess potential residential development sites.
o Evaluate site constraints, utility availability, ground conditions, and environmental factors.
2. Detailed Engineering Design
o Prepare detailed engineering designs for residential infrastructure, including drainage, highways, and external works.
o Ensure designs comply with relevant technical standards, regulations, and planning requirements.
3. Coordination with Stakeholders
o Liaise with architects, planners, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
o Communicate effectively with local authorities for planning approvals and adoption agreements.
4. Project Management
o Oversee the implementation of engineering solutions on-site, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
o Identify and address potential technical issues proactively.
5. Adoption Process Management
o Manage Section 38, Section 104, and Section 278 agreements to facilitate timely adoption of roads and drainage by local authorities and water companies.
6. Compliance and Documentation
o Prepare and submit technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and calculations.
o Ensure compliance with NHBC, Building Regulations, and other relevant standards.
7. Quality Assurance
o Monitor site activities to ensure engineering works meet design specifications and quality standards.
o Conduct inspections and resolve any technical issues on-site.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in residential engineering within the private house building sector.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage (WinDes), and other relevant software.
* Familiarity with NHBC and local authority requirements.
