ECHO HOUSE PRE-PRESS Operative

At Echo we have a dedicated studio department, along with an array of cutting-edge digital printers and assorted digital cutters operated by a skilled team. The Pre-press team sits within the Studio team and requires that you work closely with the Artworkers, in preparing finished artwork for production within our on-site print and finishing facility at Echo House.
You will be taking the finished artwork files from our studio and ensuring they are checked and imposed correctly for a variety of different printing and finishing methods.
While preparing artwork for print you will liaise between the studio and production teams to ensure jobs are produced correctly and in an efficient and timely manner.
With sustainability at the core of everything that we do, imposition is a key part of the role and you will be utilising Esko Automation Engine to nest the files on various roll and sheet medias in order to get the most value out of a print run as well as bespoke scripts and applications written in-house to meet our specific requirements.
Attention to detail is critical to the role and you will be responsible for pre-flighting the studio’s files, checking the size, quantities & bleed is all correct and tallies with the job details and client’s brief prior to going into production.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
CORE KNOWLEDGE BASE
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Graphic Design/Artworking or Print industry.
* Outstanding technical digital print knowledge.
* Good communication skills.
* Experience working on files for a varied range of print and finishing production.
* A good knowledge of Adobe CC especially InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro.
* Excellent written English.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Some knowledge of Esko Automation Engine and Caldera RIP Software (Desirable) Apple Script (Desirable).
MAIN DUTIES:
* Checking artwork files and preparing them for print production.
* Overseeing automation & file nesting.
* To establish a good working relationship with the Studio and Production Teams
* Liaising with Studio team to correct Artwork where necessary.
GENERAL
