We are looking for a Technical Author to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in producing and updating technical documentation for a variety of systems and equipment. What You’ll Do: In this role, you will be responsible for: Interpreting and understanding a wide range of technical documents and drawings. Extracting key information from various sources to create comprehensive procedures and operational documentation. Working in a regulated environment, with an appreciation for industrial and military contexts and their associated hazards. Researching and evaluating engineering source data and specifications. Developing and maintaining technical publication elements, including operational theory, testing procedures, illustrated parts breakdowns, and schematic diagrams. Coordinating the preparation of illustrative materials and conducting quality reviews of technical publications. Assisting in the development of documentation for maintenance, retrofit, and repair tasks. Analyzing technical requirements to define project scope and deliverables. Key Competencies: Exceptional written communication skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Experience with military specifications and document formats. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in technical authoring software and the creation of clear, professional documentation. Desirable Skills: While not essential, the following qualifications would be advantageous: A background in Engineering (HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or related subjects). Experience with Data Modules (DMs), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Initial Provisioning Lists (IPLs), and Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs). Familiarity with recognized industry-standard technical publishing software.
