We currently have an exciting opportunity in Barnet Children’s Integrated Therapies (Whittington Health) for an enthusiastic and motivated Integrated Therapy Assistant. The post is being offered as a part time post (0.6 WTE), fixed term until 31st October 2025, to join our wonderful and supportive team in special schools (flexible working may be considered) ensuring that the role offers excellent work/life balance opportunities.
This successful candidate will support the Children’s Integrated Therapy Team staff (Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy) to deliver services for children aged 0-25 years with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities. This means that this role will offer the job satisfaction of knowing you are helping to improve the quality of life of children and young people living in Barnet.
You will be helping the team with both administrative, and clinical work, thereby supporting the smooth running of the team. Clinical work will involve delivering therapy activities or assessment screenings under the guidance of qualified therapists alongside a friendly, open, supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities:
* To support the Children’s Integrated Therapy Team staff (Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy) to deliver services for children aged 0-25 years with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities according to departmental protocols.
* You will be helping the team with both administrative, and clinical work, thereby supporting the smooth running of the team.
* Supporting children’s integrated therapists in the role of early identification and prevention for children with therapeutic needs through observation, providing information, directing to services.
* You may be delivering therapy activities or assessment screenings under the guidance of therapists, to individuals or groups of children and/or parents/staff in Clinics, Schools, Nurseries and Children’s Centres reporting back progress and informing the Integrated therapy team.
* You may be responsible for making resources, maintaining equipment, keeping clinical notes, keeping clinical and offices spaces in good condition.
* You will be responsible for organising and prioritising your own work and adhering to Trust policies and procedures, especially in relation to child safeguarding.
* You will have a duty to report any accident/incident via Trust procedures.
* You will monitor and record children’s progression towards therapy aims.
* Delivering planned training in Clinics, Schools, Nurseries and Children’s Centres.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent
Knowledge
* Ability to communicate with children with impaired communication,
* Ability to support children with physical and sensory difficulties.
* Able to demonstrate empathy and motivate children with impaired cognitive abilities or physical senses.
* An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF and clinical governance priorities.
* General Knowledge of child development.
Skills
* Basic awareness of IT and IT skills.
* Good organisational skills.
Experience
* At least one year experience working with Children and Young people.
