Who You Are As a Grounds Operative General, you will be responsible for maintaining public parks, schools, playing fields, landscaped areas, and similar open spaces. You are someone who works efficiently with minimal supervision and effectively manages tasks to provide a high-quality grounds maintenance service. You must hold a full UK driver's license, be fit and healthy, and reside in Carmarthenshire. What the Job Involves Your primary responsibilities include general maintenance of designated areas, such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and maintenance of sports areas. You will undertake sports fields marking, upkeeping various pitches, and utilize craft skills for site preparation and construction. Other tasks involve cleaning public spaces, ensuring equipment and machinery safety compliance, inspecting playground equipment, and directing the work of trainees and other employees. You will work independently within a structured Health & Safety framework and report to the Grounds Environmental Supervisor. The work schedule is 43 hours per week from April to October and 31 hours per week from October to April.
