About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Hospitality and Catering to join our Hospitality department at The Bedford College Group .
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Purpose - Deliver effective, up-to-date, and stimulating learning opportunities, leading to learner success and progression; complete administrative duties and professional development timely.
2. Preparation and Planning - Plan relevant learning programs and lessons, prepare learning resources, and plan work experience.
3. Classroom Management - Manage learner behavior, ensure a safe learning environment, and manage learning resources.
4. Teaching and Learning Delivery - Monitor attendance, set lesson objectives, engage learners, provide differentiated learning, facilitate contributions, give feedback, and adapt teaching based on feedback.
5. Assessment - Conduct initial assessments, set and mark assignments, keep accurate records, monitor workplace learning, and liaise with internal and external bodies.
6. Duties Underpinning Teaching and Learning - Attend meetings, contribute to course development, perform administrative and pastoral duties, supervise visits, promote courses, signpost learners to services, promote equality and diversity, and safeguard learners.
7. Professional Values - Embrace development opportunities, maintain work-life balance, stay updated on relevant issues, and perform other duties as required.
About you:
8. Qualifications - Teaching qualification equivalent to Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (or willingness to work towards), Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, Assessor Award (or willingness to work towards).
9. Experience - Up-to-date industry standard vocational skills, relevant industry experience, minimum of 3 years teaching experience, ability to teach across vocational areas and learner levels.
10. Skills - Clear presentation, good personal and interpersonal communication, championing Quality Assurance, data analysis, problem-solving, motivating and inspiring learners, delivering courses using various learning modes, applying health and safety knowledge.
11. Attributes - Good team player, motivated by learner success, commitment to personal and professional development, staying updated in field of specialism, reflective practitioner, good organizational and time management skills, flexible approach.
