Job Title: Mould Setter Salary: £40,461 (£20.30 per hour, 38.33 hours a week) Benefits: To be discussed at interview Job Type: Permanent Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire Job Start date: ASAP Shift Pattern: 3 Shift, Monday to Friday We’re supporting our client, a global injection moulding company based in Nuneaton, who are looking for a Mould Setter to join their growing team. The successful Mould Setter will have previous experience as an injection moulding setter performing tool changes, setting machines and robots, as well as knowledge and experience with Witmann and Sepro robots. Job Summary: As a Mould Setter, you will be working as a member of the production team, responsible for set-up and efficient running of moulds, moulding machines, labellers and all ancillary equipment to meet the quality standards and production targets, as well as carrying out operational duties associated with the manufacture, packaging and inspection of products within the department. Responsibilities for Mould Setter: Set-up moulding machine, start-up and process adjustments within pre-defined parameters (including approving first off parts). Safely handle and load / unload mould tools onto the moulding machines. Set-up labellers and ancillary equipment associated with running the moulds as and when required. Ensure all the machines and surrounding areas are kept clean and working areas are kept clear. Oil and water spills must be cleaned up immediately and oil leaks reported to the Shift Leader. To trouble-shoot, fault-find and diagnose repair requirements and provide technical support for the shift. Support regular tool servicing programmes and identify and raise any additional tooling requirements. If no tool changes are required, housekeeping standards should be upheld. Patrol and monitor machine performance to ensure uninterrupted production within the required quality and production standards and improved cycle times. Liaise and work closely with the other members of the production team on quality and productivity improvements. Ensure the machinery is in a safe working condition and safe working practices are maintained. Any use of FLTs and cranes must be done in accordance with H&S guidelines at all times. Report and safety issues that have been evident on tool change (doors or E stops etc). If you have any training needs these should be reported to your shift supervisor ASAP. Use appropriate PPE at all times. Conduct yourself in a professional manner when managing/conversing with colleagues. Ensure general H&S standards are maintained by all throughout to factory. About You: The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years’ experience as an injection moulding setter performing tool changes, setting machines and robots Have good experience of setting and troubleshooting on Krauss, Battenfeld, Borch moulding machines desired but not essential Have knowledge and experience with Witmann and Sepro robots Ensure machines are running to cycle time Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to set targets Provide a thorough handover to opposite setter pre and post shift Report any major quality issues to the shift supervisor Identification of tooling conditions and repairs required A basic understanding of maintenance issues, such as cleaning out machinery in order to set accurately Quality checks at each stage of the moulding process and approving first offs Experience of ancillaries, such as material feed systems, mould heaters and chiller systems.
