Reliable and motivated ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) Therapist / Tutor / Support Person needed ASAP to work with an adult with autism on a home-based programme in Dorset.

Approx 15-20 hours per week
£15 per hour starting rate on a self-employed basis
* This is an exciting opportunity to gain and develop experience supporting an autistic person on a well-established home educational programme while working with a private family.
* You will receive comprehensive training from one of the UK’s most experienced Board Certified Behaviour Analysts.
* You will be joining a small team in providing 1:1 supportive tutoring to a good-natured, autistic 24-year-old man within his home and local community, within a structured programme focused on teaching life skills and communication. You will be a supportive companion accompanying him to activities such as the gym, swimming, and everyday outings in the community, while simultaneously supporting the development and generalisation of language skills and social communication. The longer-term view is to support him for some hours per week in an appropriate work or activity placement.
* Previous experience is desirable but not essential; your application and interview should demonstrate a clear interest in this area of work and a willingness to receive the required training and close initial supervision, as well as a positive attitude, resilience, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* The current working pattern is from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm on agreed regular weekdays.
The post may suit those with experience or looking toward a career in Psychology, Education, Behaviour Analysis, or interest in supporting those with additional needs. You must be within easy travelling distance of Dorchester as all aspects of the job are in person.
