The Opportunity
At Aggregate Industries we are on the lookout for a dynamic Finance Director to join our Concrete Products business unit and strategically partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team. You will be the architect of our financial and business strategies that will shape the future of our business.
This is a particularly exciting opportunity as you will join at a point of business transformation and will be involved in elevating and transform our existing business.
You’ll look at cost and operational efficiency to ensure our movements in the market make commercial sense.
We have already implemented the systems and tools needed to build our e-commerce business and as Finance Director, you will play a significant role in ensuring this is a success, guiding on our market positioning and prospective opportunities.
Whilst not a central part of the day to day role, there is also the chance to lead on M&A activity in the division.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and profitability, offering challenge and insight to the senior leadership team.
Your direct team of 2 will support you in partnering with your stakeholders by providing the tools and data you need to accurately lead on planning, forecasting and budget management.
You will also have the support of our central finance team and our overseas Finance Hub who pick up the transactional activities.
Who you are
You are a dynamic Finance leader with the ability to spark challenge and debate at senior levels of the business. You are comfortable being the voice of reason in the room and approach complex scenarios with a considered and calm demeanour.

You’ll be a qualified accountant with significant experience in leading teams and working in a matrix environment. This is not a finance role that lives in spreadsheets, instead, you’ll be focused on adding value and character to the division and providing commercial focus.
Whilst you have the technical knowledge of an accountant, your key skills are business partnering and leading with charisma and influence.

This role is hybrid with some home working and otherwise based at Bardon Hill, Coalville but you will also spend some time at our site in Hulland Ward, Derbyshire.

Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organisation.
Manage all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, and analysis.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets to monitor progress and present operational metrics.
Design and implement strategies that optimise the financial performance of the organisation.
Lead and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience in a senior financial management role, preferably in the construction or manufacturing sectors.
Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to company strategy and performance improvement.
Experience in managing a finance team and developing team capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent financial certification.
