The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Eastern Services is looking to appoint a Speciality Registrar Doctor in Haematology based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. This is a full-time, substantive post, Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm, with some Saturday morning cover.
We are a friendly department encompassing all aspects of clinical haematology. The post will be split between outpatient clinics, the daycase unit, and the ward.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the post-holder will work closely with 8 consultants in haematology, an associate specialist, 2 registrars, 3 WTE specialty doctors, a core-medical trainee, our team of clinical nurse specialists and advanced nurse practitioners and the wider clinical haematology team, to provide a comprehensive range of clinical and laboratory services for patients. The post will involve working through and supporting all the activities of the department including a range of malignant, autologous stem-cell transplant, red cell and thrombosis / haemostasis services.
The successful candidate must possess a basic medical qualification (e.g. MBBS or equivalent) and have full registration with the GMC. Applicants should preferably be a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent. Some experience and competence in clinical haematology is expected to meet the requirements of the post.
