The appointee will be skilled in working as part of a dynamic community multi-disciplinary team, able to communicate with a wide range of patient groups and colleagues. The main role will be to provide specialist palliative medicine assessment and advice independently and supporting multi-disciplinary team colleagues. The general functions of the Specialty Doctor would include: Job Responsibilities As part of Palliative care multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will deliver high quality professional care to patients and those important to them in the community. You will work closely with the clinical team to ensure we offer the highest standard of care. Responsibilities To work with Consultants in Palliative medicine to deliver high quality palliative care. Undertake medical assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in community. Initiate appropriate medical care and prescribe appropriately in line with policies and guidelines. Work with MDT to initiate appropriate investigations and treatment. Provide telephone or remote support to the team or other health care professionals. Supportive communication with patients and their carers regarding their disease and its management. Communicate clearly with colleagues and other professionals supporting patient care. Record in clinical notes in a timely and accurate manner. Participate in CPD, appraisal and revalidation.
