THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer with a strong background in Software and Data Engineering to join our team in Stevenage. This role involves producing and setting interfaces, defining software documentation, and performing technical data processing for spacecraft systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and establish interfaces for data management systems.
2. Collaborate with system engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
3. Optimise interfaces for performance and reliability in spacecraft operations.
4. Create comprehensive software documentation for data access procedures.
5. Develop detailed step-by-step guides to facilitate user understanding and implementation.
6. Maintain documentation updates to reflect changes and improvements in the systems.
7. Verify the correctness and integrity of data used in spacecraft system engineering.
8. Ensure accurate data processing within the Functional Avionics group.
9. Perform system configurations, utilising system engineering skills to optimise performance and accuracy.
SKILLS:
1. Strong understanding of system engineering principles and practices.
2. Experience in spacecraft system engineering and data management.
3. Ability to design, process, and simulate information for software interaction.
4. Highly desired to have experience with IntelliJ, Java (Object-Oriented coding), GitLab, JIRA, Confluence.
5. Experience in creating and managing software documentation.
6. Expertise in data handling protocols (e.g., 1553, CANbus, CCSDS, Packet Utilisation Standards).
7. Skills in configuring system engineering tasks within functional avionics.
8. Familiarity with data governance and process design.
9. Understanding of data governance principles.
