We currently have an opening for a Sustainable Finance Specialist Consultant to join our Sustainable Business & ESG Services team to support its development and growth. THE ROLE Procurement Manager - Edinburgh As part of the Finance team, this role will lead on all procurement activities, including tender exercises, sourcing & onboarding suppliers, renewals, contract negotiation, and ensuring due diligence and compliance. Responsibilities include: Developing Procurement Strategies: Responsible for developing and implementing cost-effective procurement strategies that align with the organisation's goals and objectives. This includes identifying opportunities for supplier consolidation and process improvements. Ensure all procurement processes are followed and accurately recorded Ensuring a rational, systematic approach to managing spend is developed and adopted across the organisation Managing procurement budgets, strategies and payment processes Managing procurement related elements of AAB's property portfolio Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identifying potential service providers & evaluating their capabilities Managing ongoing relationships with new and existing suppliers Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded. Providing timely feedback on supplier performance issues, successes, and contractual risk to senior project leaders. Market Research and Supplier Evaluation: Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of reputation, financial stability, value and quality Track commercial trends and provide guidance and updates. Tracking key metrics and KPIs to reduce costs. Analysing procurement data, conducting spend analysis, preparing reports & offering recommendations for action Optimising workflows and automation processes to save time and money Incorporating new procurement software, e-procurement processes and business processes when necessary Contract Negotiation: Negotiating contracts with service providers to secure favourable terms and conditions for AAB Development and implementation of effective contract and supplier management strategies, to extract maximum value from contracts, motivate performance and drive innovation. Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with business needs. Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing guidance on procurement best practices. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Assess and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships, contracts, and service delivery. Key Requirements: Degree educated or CIPS / MCIPS qualified. Hold or are working towards CIPS level 4. Track record of delivering value and cost savings Strong supplier and stakeholder management acumen with the ability communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally Proven experience in procurement or a similar role, with a strong understanding of Professional Services. Strong negotiation and contract management skills Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for details. Proficient in using procurement software and tools to streamline processes and generate reports. Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in data analysis and report generation. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels. A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and growth.
