The Industrial Services Manager will have the flexibility to work nationally across our two depots in Sheffield and Darlington. This role provides leadership and direction regarding day-to-day depot and operational service management and improvement. The post holder will lead a team of highly trained specialists working in confined space areas, utilizing heavy machinery across multiple industrial projects. The post holder will drive the desired organic growth to target annualized revenue while maintaining and improving current margins, overseeing every aspect of the business unit. The candidate will lead the business unit and work with all key stakeholders across the Group to identify business opportunities for operational improvements.

* Monitor and review performance and KPIs of the business unit regularly.
* Visit customers to review performance, obtain feedback, identify ongoing requirements, and resolve any issues.
* Lead, develop, and motivate the team through effective communication, direction, coaching, and continuous support.
* Ensure that staff are appropriately trained prior to carrying out duties unsupervised.
* Actively monitor and manage the business pipeline, ensuring targets are met.
* Any other duties reasonably requested within the scope of the job.
This post is responsible for the effective delivery of the Biffa Industrial Cleaning operational and commercial strategy, maximizing efficiency through effective resource planning and driving a sustainable business operation. The post-holder will be responsible for both Sheffield and Darlington operations.
The role holder will have input into the business plan and the annual budgeting process.
The role holder will support, coach, and mentor the wider team within the specialist services business and account management team.
The BIC Depot manager needs to have an extensive understanding of the industrial services/waste industry, with the ability to detect and manage risk. The role holder should be numerate and detail conscious, able to create KPIs and operational metrics.
Here’s what we require:
* Previous experience working within a technical team.
* Experience as operations manager within a similar business.
* Demonstrable knowledge of WM3/ADR.
* Knowledge of environmental compliance issues associated with waste classification, transport, packaging, and labeling.
* Knowledge of DISAB/HPWJ systems.
* Knowledge of confined space classifications.
* Effective people coaching skills.
* Proven people management and safety leadership skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* IT literate – proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Effective time management skills.
* Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
* Organized with the ability to simplify complex issues.
* Commercially focused with the ability to manage P&Ls.
* Ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload.
* Shows initiative to decide appropriate actions to achieve necessary outcomes.
* Willingness to work flexibly if required.
* Experience of working within a Corporate environment.
* Full, clean UK Driving Licence – willingness to travel within the UK for business meetings.
