We are recruiting for a position for 24-30hrs with a view to covering full time hours in our WPS Starbucks/Costa coffee shops at UHCW. Opening hours for our stores range between the hours of 06.30am - 20.30pm.
We are looking to recruit between the hours of 12.30pm-20.30pm in Starbucks with flexibility to cover day shifts and weekends where required.
As a retail barista you will work in any one of our Retail Coffee Shop Outlets based at the University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire. The role includes the following:
1. Serve beverages and hot food items to customers in a polite and courteous manner and to brand standards.
2. Carry out all tasks with due regard to the contract specification and all legislation including Health and Safety, Food Safety and Personal Hygiene.
3. Ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery/equipment immediately.
4. Reconcile customer purchases using electronic till and process payments by cash or card.
5. Monitor and record temperatures of prepared food in line with food hygiene legislation.
6. Monitor and re-stock pre-packed food and beverage points.
7. Clean and re-stock food and beverage vending machines.
8. Clear tables of used crockery and cutlery and make tables ready for use by other customers.
9. Assist with the washing and cleaning of crockery, cutlery, utensils and equipment.
10. Complete routine cleaning of customer, food serving and food preparation areas of the retail coffee shop outlets to maintain standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
11. Empty waste bins within retail outlets and remove sacks of waste to collection points.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Barista with a strong understanding of coffee preparation and serving techniques.
2. Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
3. Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
4. Excellent time management skills to efficiently serve customers during peak hours.
5. Ability to prepare food items as needed, contributing to a well-rounded café experience.
