We have an exciting opening for a proactive, flexible and versatile Farm Technician to join our Research Farm Team at Rothamsted’s 850-acre mixed farm at North Wyke, Devon. Here, commercial farming meets cutting-edge research, helping shape the future of sustainable agriculture.
Key Responsibilities of the role.
Livestock Care – Mixing rations, feeding, and bedding cattle and sheep using mixer wagons and straw choppers. You’ll also assist with calving, lambing, grazing management, and livestock welfare checks.
Field Operations – Operating tractors and other machinery at both commercial field scale (grassland and arable) and experimental plot scale while helping to maintain the equipment to a high standard.
Research - Contribute to important research trials by collecting and recording experimental data.
