About the role Library Assistant roles offer successful applicants the opportunity to get involved in a hugely varied range of activities. You will be actively promoting and supporting the use of all of our library resources and helping customers to find the information that they need. You will help to deliver a programme of library activities and events, as well as supporting the Library Manager in all aspects of the day to day running of the library. In some libraries you will be involved in helping us to deliver services that are unique to that service point. This may include, for example, assisting people to use our CreatorSpace resources, including 3D printers and virtual reality devices. Essential: Experience in delivering a high standard of Customer Service to members of the public. Strong communication skills Demonstrable time management skills in organising and prioritising. Evidence of working collaboratively with a team to achieve aims and objectives Desirable: Experience of meeting KPIs and other targets set by Team Leads Skill or experience in promoting events and services. Evidence of, or experience in, problem solving Ability to support members of the public with queries and use of IcT. Knowledge of Library Services. Vacancies: Welwyn Library AL8 6AJ Welwyn Garden City library is a large library, including the countywide Enquiry Service, which Library Assistants help to support. We deliver many events and activities for children and adults and cover the nearby Woodhall library where Library Assistants will be expected to work on a rota basis. Please note, you may be aware that there is also a community library at Welwyn, so the main library is known as Welwyn Garden City Library and Information Service. The library events include Baby Rhyme times, Story Times, Lego clubs, Social inclusion groups and author events. The library has a Creator Space and meetings rooms for hire. There is a large study area. Borehamwood WD6 1EB Borehamwood Library is a large town centre library on 3 floors. We are part of a Community Hub and the library offers a wide range of events and activities for adults and children. These include Baby Rhyme Time, Story Time, Lego Club and IT help for customers using our PCs and printing facilities. Library assistants will be involved in all of these activities as well as shelving books, engaging with library customers and promoting our services. Bishops Stortford CM23 2EJ Bishop's Stortford Library is situated between a busy market town high street and large green space offering multiple leisure facilities. The library is one of the busiest in the county, well used by the youngest and oldest members of the community - and everyone in between Our team is friendly and dedicated, delivering a variety of cultural and learning activities and events to an engaged community. Every day is different, and there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge. Watford WD17 3EU Watford Central Library is a large, bustling town centre library spread over two floors. We are open seven days a week and offer a wide range of services, events, and activities for both adults and children. These include Baby Rhyme Time, Story Time, Lego Club, and a Sewing Group. Our modern CreatorSpace is used for creative and digital activities, as well as various clubs and events. Hatfield AL10 Hatfield Library, located in the town centre is a busy community hub which holds regular creative and social activities for all age groups.
