The Council is now looking for a new Director of Health & Wellbeing to join our awarding winning council. We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about building on the innovation of the past, delivering the highest quality care and support services, whilst ensuring residents and communities are at the heart of what we do as a Council, day in and day out. As a member of the Senior Management Team of the Authority, you’ll have key responsibility and accountability for improving the health & wellbeing of Telford and Wrekin residents, you’ll seek to reduce inequalities in health outcomes and protect our local communities from public health hazards. For this, you’ll need to embrace our co-operative council approach and have the ability to effectively facilitate change. You’ll be a statutory chief officer of the Authority and the principal adviser on all population health matters to elected members, officers and partners, with a leadership role spanning health improvement, health protection and healthcare public health – do you have the negotiation skills and the ability to work both creatively and strategically in order to excel at this? You’ll be a pioneering and visible system leader in health and wellbeing partnership arrangements within the Shropshire Telford Wrekin Integrated Care System, so you’ll need significant successful experience of working in a cross-sector partnership environment.
