PURPOSE OF THE POST:
CVST has secured funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an Infrastructure programme that will support the Tendring Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS). This post will be responsible for supporting this work. The project includes:
Supporting local voluntary and community organisations and the people who work and volunteer with them. The postholder will support them to:
• Identify and apply for funding for their projects
• Share and learn through networking events, training and workshops on a range of topics including governance, digital engagement and equality, diversity and inclusion
• Recruit and retain volunteers, including Trustees
The Funding and Development Officer will work with local partners to ensure that they connect to, hear, respond to, and represent the voices of the groups and organisations within our communities.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the delivery of project targets and outcomes in line with funding requirements and the CVST Vision and Business Plan.
2. Assist in the promotion and marketing of project activities through advertising, attendance at events, exhibitions, and meetings as and when required.
3. Using internal monitoring systems, monitor the progress of projects to ensure that all data is accurate, up-to-date and available for the on-going evaluation of the project and reporting to Funders and the CVST Board of Trustees.
4. Work alongside CVST volunteers to support the effective delivery of delegated projects
5. Maintaining CVST membership through ongoing engagement and excellent service delivery
6. Establish and manage relationships with community groups, external agencies and partners and identify and make links with those groups and agencies that are not currently known to CVST.
7. Identify training needs and establish accredited and informal training opportunities for VCS colleagues to develop their skills and increase volunteering.
8. Assist in identifying and securing funding towards the enhancement of the project and the development of activities.
9. Undertake any other general duties as may be required from time to time
GENERAL:
To work collaboratively as part of the CVST staff team towards the aims and objectives of the organisation as a whole. Attend training in consultation with your line manager to improve and develop skills in line with the requirements of the job. To take part in the staff performance and development review process.
