The successful candidate will join the AA Roadside Finance team, providing robust business partnership to the AA Cars management team within a well-controlled financial environment.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role involves collaborating with the AA Cars operational and extended finance teams to ensure effective processes, a strong control environment, and the achievement of the business's EBITDA targets.
What will I be doing?
* Partner with the Cars Operational Management team to ensure financial performance is understood, gaps are identified, results are challenged, and value-adding analysis is conducted where required.
* Support the development of a financial and operational reporting suite, including Management Information, to facilitate sound decision-making.
* Collaborate with the wider Finance team to ensure accurate month-end reporting, continuously improving speed, accuracy, and insight.
* Analyse and understand monthly performance through variance analysis against forecasts/budgets across revenue, costs, and the balance sheet.
* Identify and implement approved process improvement opportunities across business models, working closely with the centralised IT team to streamline, standardise, and automate processes.
* Assist the Head of Finance with VAT accounting and processes, attend weekly steering meetings to identify financial opportunities or risks, ensure balance sheet accuracy, liaise with Central Finance for month-end and audit queries, support budgeting and forecasting, assist with ad hoc projects, and develop an effective control dashboard suite for financial visibility.
What do I need?
* Financially numerate with a solid educational background and experience in an accounting/finance role.
* Commercially minded, enthusiastic, and ambitious, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently.
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified.
* Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to prioritise, manage, and deliver under tight or conflicting deadlines.
* An innate curiosity and desire to understand and challenge, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
