A growing and innovative engineering business specialising in anaerobic digestion (AD) technology is looking for a Process Engineer to join the team. Along with a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, you will receive a range of benefits including private healthcare, a pension scheme, ongoing investment and training, generous annual leave with service-based increases and expenses covered on occasional overnight stays. There may be flexibility/WFH options once initial training has been completed.
You will join a friendly, expert team that supports AD plants across the UK, designing solutions for new installations, optimising existing sites, and improving plant safety and performance through best-in-class engineering.
As Process Engineer, Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Creating design solutions for AD plants including calculations, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.
* Working closely with clients to capture requirements and translate them into practical design specs.
* Selecting pumps, valves, and instrumentation, and documenting all specifications using your knowledge of process engineering principles.
* Conducting and documenting site-based safety assessments in line with DSEAR regulations.
* Carrying out full site surveys, overseeing equipment installations, and supporting the successful commissioning of process systems.
* Contributing throughout the project lifecycle from scoping and design through to build, install, and final testing.
What we're looking for:
* A degree in Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
* Previous experience in process engineering, preferably in anaerobic digestion, wastewater, or related sectors.
* A good grasp of instrumentation, pumping systems, and engineering drawings (AutoCAD 2D is useful).
* Confidence producing engineering calculations (e.g., head loss, pump sizing).
* The ability to create and interpret P&IDs and other technical documentation.
* Comfortable travelling to client sites (overnight stays on occasion, with all expenses covered).
* Strong communication skills with an interest in delivering sustainable engineering solutions.
If you're passionate about sustainability and want to play a key part in the renewable energy sector, this role offers the chance to work on a wide range of technically fascinating projects, from initial site surveys and safety assessments through to detailed process design and plant commissioning.
