Our parish and church:
The parish of St Mary's is located in the northern part of Bromley (pop. 6,200) close to the bustling town centre with its shops, cinemas, theatres, etc.
The church was built in Victorian times and is in a prominent position on the main road. Next door is 'Church House' which accommodates the Parish Office and a number of rooms which are let extensively for community use. The upper floors are rented to local businesses as office space, and there are two residential flats which are privately rented.
Worship is currently traditional and ‘middle of the road’ and supported by a robed choir and organist. In a month there are typically four Family Communion services at on Sundays, with an All-Age Communion service on the second Sunday. We are hoping
to increase the number and styles of weekly services on offer, and expand the range and variety of our music.
The Vicarage is an attractive and well-maintained 5-bedroomed property just 5 minutes walk from the church.
For further details please see the accompanying Parish Profile. If you have any questions, or to arrange an informal conversation with the Archdeacon of Bromley & Bexley about this vacancy, please contact her EA, Fiona Porter, in the first instance by emailing:
[Closing date for applications: Sunday 30th June. Interviews will be held on Tuesday, 6th August].
The wider a group’s diversity, the smarter, wiser, and more compassionate and creative its decision making becomes. We are committed to achieving diversity throughout our Diocese by seeking UKME/GMH colleagues and those from a wide-range of backgrounds, to help us create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
