An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced individuals to join this Acute Pain Management team. The individual will be covering the HGS sites which are Heartlands, Good Hope & Solihull Hospitals. The Acute Pain Team offers a 5-day visiting service from 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays. This position is for 30 hours per week over a 4-day period. This is a permanent position.
The post holder will work autonomously and with the wider multi-disciplinary team to help deliver an expert inpatient specialist service for those patients needing acute assessment and intervention. As a nursing expert, the post holder will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the pain management service, providing advice, education, and support to staff, patients, their families, and carers.
The post holder will need to have evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC.

Main Duties of the Job
Develop individual competence and knowledge which will support the provision and evaluation of the acute pain management specialist nursing services, ensuring patients receive the highest standards of clinical care. You will develop specialist knowledge and skills in acute pain which will be demonstrated through the provision of advice, education, and support to staff, patients, families, and carers. You will be supported by a more experienced acute pain management nurse or nurses to enable you to achieve competence in agreed areas of this specialist practice through exposure, training, and education.
Responsible for ongoing development and training of the policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. You are accountable for safe, effective clinical practice working as part of a defined team, supporting team performance, ensuring efficient and effective use of physical and human resources, and will also provide/deliver a range of educational and training packages to health care staff and patients.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
* Evidence of post-registration CPD/post-registration qualification in pain management or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to FHEQ Level 6
Experience Essential
* Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
* Significant post-registration experience, with evidence of passion/enthusiasm and knowledge for acute pain/pain management.
* Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of ongoing professional development/competence
* Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to specialty
* Experience and enthusiasm for teaching/assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross-agency work environment
* Demonstrate understanding/experience/willingness to be a practice-based supervisor/assessor as detailed in the NMC
Desirable
* Experience in service development
