Job Purpose
The Deputy Mental Health Manager will be responsible through the Mental Health Manager for the development and delivery of high quality, safe and effective mental health services for patients registered within Causeway Federation in the first instance.
The Deputy Mental Health Manager will work closely with the Mental Health Manager in the planning and development of primary care mental health services, ensuring effective multidisciplinary working and the most efficient use of resources.
They will be responsible for the leadership and operational management of the staff and the service provided and be responsible for ensuring the achievement of agreed performance targets and service improvement initiatives for mental health services within Primary Care.
The Deputy Mental Health Manager will co-ordinate activities with other disciplines within the Primary Care MDT as necessary. They will also be responsible for ensuring high standards of patient safety, clinical and social care governance and for ensuring all professional standards and regulatory requirements are met.
The role is designed to assist the post-holder with the development of their managerial and leadership skills, whilst leading a team of experienced mental health professionals.
Minimum Requirements
* Registered Mental Health Nurse, live on NMC register OR Professional Social Work qualification and registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) OR Registered Occupational Therapist OR Practitioner Psychologist, registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Have 3 years’ experience working at Band 6 level (or above) in Adult Mental Health Services.
* Have 1 years’ experience working as a mental health practitioner, at Band 7 level (or above) in Adult Mental Health Services.
* Applicants must demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience of working in adult mental health services including knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures as well as an understanding of the role of statutory agencies, and community services.
* The successful candidate must hold a full current driving license (valid in the UK) and have access to a car at the closing date or have access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to carry out the duties of the post in full. (This relates only to any person who has declared that they have a disability, which debars them from driving).
* Experience of working in a Primary Care/Community Care setting.
