A bit about the role Viking House are looking for a General Assistant to support our team of Residential Support staff to continue to provide children with an enriching and positive experience when they come to stay with us. As a General Assistant you will provide a range of domestic tasks at a high level of cleanliness and hygiene of premises and designated areas to meet the service standards, within a safe and caring environment for service users, visitors and employees. You will also prepare and serve nutritious meals to children during their stays. About the service Viking House is a six-bed residential short break home for Children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years old with complex additional needs. The home offers short breaks for children and is a place of laughter fun and new experiences where the children can thrive, learn, and develop helping them to achieve a positive future. Whilst the children are with us, we strive to create a homely environment but providing them with warm and nurturing care, in a cosy and clean environment. How you'll help to create brighter futures Support the team to ensure the home is clean, safe and welcoming for children, and appropriately stocked with healthy and nutritious food. Create healthy and nutritious meals for children, following any dietary requirements and considering likes and dislikes. Support the team to provide meals to children in a timely manner. Support the team to ensure the home is appropriately stocked with cleaning items, following COSHH guidelines. Follow Food Safety guidelines and undertake any relevant training to support this. Ideally you will have: Experience with maintaining food hygiene standards and creating nutritious meals. Some experience and knowledge of managing and maintaining a clean and safe environment Knowledge and experience with maintaining health and safety guidelines within a professional workplace.
