Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join their dedicated team. This role is perfect for a proactive individual with a passion for maintaining high standards and driving improvements in a technically demanding manufacturing environment.
Role Overview
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer requirements. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to maintaining accreditations, resolving quality issues, and supporting new product introductions (NPI).
Key Responsibilities
* Uphold and maintain AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards.
* Work collaboratively to meet external accreditation requirements.
* Ensure the release of conforming products, supported by Certificates of Conformance.
* Perform internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
* Assist in new product introductions and failure investigations.
* Support and mentor apprentices and trainees in line with company standards.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment to prevent contamination or defects.
* Participate in customer audits and act as a key point of contact for quality-related queries.
* Champion a 'right-first-time' culture across the organisation.
Experience and Skills Required
* At least three years’ experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in the aerospace sector.
* Familiarity with aerospace quality systems such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
* Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
* Practical experience using inspection tools, including callipers, micrometres, and height gauges.
* Internal Auditor qualifications are advantageous.
* HNC/HND in a relevant discipline is preferred.
