Connells Group has an exciting opportunity within Risk and Compliance for a Data Protection Advisor. This is an additional resource for the team, involving multiple stakeholders, and supporting the Group Data Protection Officer with board awareness. This role is hybrid, requiring presence in the Milton Keynes and/or Leighton Buzzard office.
Job Purpose and Objectives
To support the Group Data Protection function, particularly the Group Data Protection Officer and Assistant Data Protection Officer.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing advice on Data Protection matters.
* Supporting completion of Data Protection Controls Frameworks.
* Identifying potential issues and risks related to personal data processing across business functions.
* Supporting Data Protection Impact Assessments.
* Assisting with the review and completion of Registers of Processing Activity.
* Reviewing data protection clauses in contracts.
* Providing ad hoc support as directed by the Group Data Protection Officer.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Ownership of issues and resolution-oriented approach.
* Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
* Attention to detail and high-quality reporting.
* Ability to assess impact and articulate issues clearly with a commercial outlook.
* Confident communicator and presenter.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Willingness to pursue a Data Protection qualification.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Data Protection or a similar compliance role.
