Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon, Antrim Hospital
The Breast Service at Antrim Area Hospital would like to invite candidates to apply for our full time Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon.
The inpatient service provides care for the residents of the Northern Health & Social Care Trust. The unit deals with approximately 6000 new referrals, generating a cancer work load of approximately 400 per annum, included within this are screen detected cancers. This is the regional Unit for High Risk MRI screening, and carries out Breast Screening for the Northern Area.
This post has no General Surgery commitments. This is a retirement replacement post. The breast surgery service at the Antrim Hospital site is delivered by a team of 4 surgeons. The breast team is committed to a multidisciplinary approach to breast cancer. Candidates must demonstrate sub-speciality training in the full range of Breast Surgery.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview. The Trust would welcome applicants who have followed the Portfolio Pathway / CESR route as an equivalent means of obtaining specialty registration.
