A dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Geography is sought to lead the Geography department within a GOOD rated 11-19 learning community in Edmonton, North London. Applications are also welcomed from experienced Geography Teachers with the potential and interest in developing into a Head of Department role. This permanent position is available from September 2025, with the possibility of an earlier start for suitable candidates. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of the Geography curriculum and the leadership of the Geography team. Responsibilities Provide strong leadership and management for the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. Develop and implement an engaging and challenging Geography curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. Monitor and evaluate the progress and attainment of students in Geography, implementing effective intervention strategies. Line manage and support the professional development of teachers within the Geography department. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Proven experience of successfully teaching Geography at the secondary level, including Key Stage 5. Strong subject knowledge in Geography and a clear vision for curriculum development.
