What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Psychometric Assessor and Intervention Specialist to join our growing team. In this rewarding role, you will lead and coordinate the process for identifying students who need additional support across for exams to ensure that they receive appropriate exam access arrangements and intervention to support their specific needs. You will work alongside the Pastoral, SEND and Exams teams to ensure that they remain effective in identifying and implementing appropriate exam concessions.
Here at the Laurus Trust we are able to provide a cutting-edge SEND provision that has a positive impact on our young people, and we are currently looking to recruit caring and dedicated individuals to join our SEND team. You will play a vital role in enhancing pupils/students progress whilst promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. A comprehensive offer of professional learning is in place and we ensure that all schools have designated work spaces for staff. A broad range of training in SEND is in place across all our schools focus on whole school SEND issues as well as specific training for SEND teams.
This position is contracted on a 30 hours per week Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so. In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37 out of 52 weeks.
Job Purpose
• Work collaboratively with Pastoral and SEND teams to develop their understanding of how to appropriately identify students in need of access arrangements by providing effective training and guidance.
• Lead and develop a clear strategy for assessing students for exam access arrangements across the school.
• Ensure that each student with an access arrangement has the appropriate evidence in place to illustrate a history of need
Key Skills and Experiences
• Relevant Level 7 qualification Specialist Assessor/CPT3A which meets JCQ regulations.
• Experience of working with young people with additional needs either in a residential or working environment.
• Experience of working in a school classroom environment with SEN students
