Offshore Drilling Materials Controllers
The job holders will act as the co-ordinators between offshore operations and onshore material and logistics service providers, ensuring that the rig / platform needs are met in a safe and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate should be an experienced individual that ideally has a good understanding of WELS (now known as Kabal), and direct experience of working on Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU) and HDJU is a preference for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Co-ordinating and controlling all material and personnel movements to / from our client's offshore installation.
* Focal point for all offshore materials, marine & aviation activities on the installation providing support and guidance as required in conjunction with the MARCO, WSL and sub-contractor representatives onboard.
* Maintain regular and clear communication with all interested parties - communicate efficiently and clearly any changes of plan or emergent requirements as well as weather impacts to planned operations.
* Co-ordinate the receipt, handling, storage, maintenance and backload of all client and contractor provided materials offshore.
* Reinforcement and application of the requirements of the OGUK Best Practice guidelines for the safe packing and handling of cargo from the offshore location and reporting of any discrepancies / non-conformances as required.
* Responsible for co-ordinating logistics and materials activities in support of the drilling operation in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
* Keep an accurate inventory record by use of the WELS / KABAL system of all material movements to / from the installation, including high-cost rental tracking.
* Create and distribute within WELS / KABAL accurate inbound Air and Sea manifests along with all required additional supporting documentation relating to the transport of any Waste or Hazardous materials as per SEPA, IATA and IMDG guidelines.
* Prepare and distribute daily operations, logistics and personnel lookaheads in line with the requirements of the WSL and Drilling teams.
* Responsible for the coordination of effective deck management strategies to ensure the most optimised, safe and efficient use of deck space and available CCU's on board is achieved at all times.
* Manage all equipment and CCU certification dates to ensure all items remain within certification available for use ensuring to remove / swap out any equipment or CCU units due to expire as efficiently as possible.
* Highlight any abnormal lifts or cargo requirements that may require additional planning to / from the installation.
* Timely notification of inbound planned tubular movements to determine if a Supply Vessel TRS system is required to be fitted in advance ahead of sailing.
* Support onshore Logistics Co-ordinator to create and review 48 and 24 hr load lists for all materials planned for mobilising to your assigned offshore asset.
* Liaise with Marine teams and Onshore Logistics Co-ordinator to ensure that the Supply Vessel bulk tanks are clean and available for required products to and from the asset in advance of departing from onshore.
* Ensure that the backload of all bulk waste products (Slops) have been dosed with the correct quantities of Biocode and H2S scavenger, an accurate analysis report has been created and it has been supplied in advance to the vessel and waste handling agent onshore along with any other required documentation prior to backloading to the supply vessel.
* Timely identify requirements for additional marine and aviation support to enable the onshore Logistics team to make the required arrangements to secure in advance additional Aircraft, Supply, Standby and Anchor Handing support vessels as required.
Person Specification:
* Relevant Drilling materials and logistics experience with specific Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODUs) background.
* Experience in operational co-ordination where many interfaces require to be managed.
* Experience / Awareness of shore base, aviation, marine operations and vessel movement planning activities.
* Competent user of business systems, MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and in particular WELS / KABAL.
* Confident communicator who can liaise with people at all levels of an organisation.
* Excellent organisation, planning and reporting skills.
* The ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Able to embrace and re-enforce the client's safety culture.
* Valid offshore certification of MIST, BOSIET and OGUK Medical.
* Valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air (IATA) and Sea certification (IMDG).
