Job Summary
In accordance with best practice, the IM&T Systems Tester is responsible for the provision of effective complex application and integration testing services for applications used at The Trust.
This will include:
1. Development of test plans
2. Creation and maintenance of test scripts
3. Execution of test plans/scripts
Test Issue resolution and will encompass:
4. Patient and/or clinical pathways
5. Integration with third party systems
6. Reporting
7. Printers
8. Electronic Patient Record (EPR) peripherals e.g. Vital Sign Devices
Location: Kingston

Duration of booking: Expected to last 6 months with possible extension
Proposed start date: 1st April.
Pay Rates: Up to £25 per hour Umbrella or £22 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/OUTCOMES:
Testing
9. Develop, maintain and communicate test resource schedule.
10. Interpret complex test requirements in line with the test schedule to ensure that all test plans and scripts are developed, executed and reported according to the strategy and agreed timescales.
11. Work with Subject Matter Experts to understand all possible scenarios and develop test plans for all assigned projects.
12. Maintain the CRS (Cerner Millennium) Regression Test Pack.
13. Develop and maintain regression test packs for all applications supported by the IM&T Application Support Team.
14. Ensure all tests meet agreed acceptance criteria and supporting evidence documented.
15. Ensure that standard methodology and tools are identified and utilised.
16. Contribute to risk management for all risks associated with the agreed test strategy, planning, and execution.
17. Support all phases of testing in test environments and post implementation into production, and the execution of testing activities, including generating comprehensive test scenarios and scripts, supported by adequate data and expected results.
18. Liaising with internal colleagues, users and suppliers to ensure continuity of the test environment and identify and rapidly fix any issues.
19. Identify and document test failures, ensuring any re-testing is completed in a timely fashion.
20. Service Improvement
21. Assist IM&T colleagues with the development and implementation of policy and procedure to support and enhance service provision.
22. Implement aspects of service improvement plans as directed.
Skill experience and Knowledge:
23. Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience
24. ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
25. Cerner Millennium (CRS)
26. 3 years working in an IT Applications Support or Implementation team
27. 2 years’ experience in designing & documenting test plans
28. 2 years’ experience of software testing
29. Experience of developing testing procedures
30. Experience of supervising 3rd party personnel e.g. users doing User Acceptance Testing.
31. Has provided advice to users and peers on best practice.
32. Test Incident electronic logging
33. Sound knowledge of all stages in the testing lifecycle.
34. Cerner Millennium workflow.
35. Proficient in working with process and data flows to understand complex business models.
36. Highly analytical, with ability to break down complex processes to effective test scenarios & scripts.
37. Detail conscious, maintains high level of accuracy in all documentation.
38. Proficient in MS Office applications.
39. Rapid assimilation of detail.
40. Ability to communicate, interact and work with multidisciplinary teams.
41. Good communication & influencing skills.
