Do you have a passion for working with adults? Are you keen to continue to develop your skills in both dysphagia and communication, working alongside a friendly and supportive team? We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in working with a diverse community caseload, which includes acquired neurological conditions, brain injury and general community in North Lincolnshire.
Ideally we're looking for an autonomous practitioner who shares the team's passion for delivering high quality interventions and embraces our Trust values of Compassion, Honesty, Respect and Teamwork. You will be well-supported by our wider SLT team in conjunction with the North and North East Lincolnshire SLT Team Lead and Clinical Expert SLTs. Your patients will have access to our weekly Videofluoroscopy clinics and there would be opportunities for you to develop skills in VFS using the MBSImP protocol. We have also recently developed our inpatient FEES service.
This post can be offered as flexible part-time hours across the week and some remote working may also be possible – we are happy to discuss with you. Depending on service need, there may also be potential for additional Bank hours to support service delivery. Please note candidates with less experience could be considered for a B5-B6 development role – this may include a mix of acute/community working initially as you develop your skills.
If you are newly/recently qualified there may be an opportunity to develop into the B6 role following completion of NQPs and other required competencies over a likely 18-24 month period.
The wider SLT service encompasses colleagues with similar roles in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and wider group relations with HUTH, providing regular opportunities for joint working. Our inpatient dysphagia service will be expanding to include rostered Saturday and bank holiday working and, dependant on clinical skills this post may be required to contribute to this rota.
The postholder is to both provide and support a high standard of care within Speech and Language Therapy, undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. To be responsible for providing a specialist service comprising assessment, management and treatment for adults with disorders of communication and swallowing (dysphagia) dependent on specific role.
To manage a defined caseload of patients using advanced evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
The applicant will need to have access to transport and the ability to safely transport yourself and equipment around the required geographical area during the course of their working day.
We encourage all our staff to innovate and adopt ‘best practice’ so we can deliver excellent care to our patients. We ask staff to live our values, kindness, courage, and respect.
We are committed to recruiting the best people to work with us. You could be one of them.
As a Trust we are keen to offer and encourage flexible working opportunities to address health and wellbeing and work-life balance for our employees, this will have a positive impact on the care we provide.
We therefore support and encourage open conversations around a specific working pattern to suit your work-life balance or a multi-role career, if it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.
We are committed to creating and maintaining a fair and supportive working environment and culture, where contributions are fully recognised and valued by all and staff feel empowered to carry out their duties to the best of their abilities.
We strongly value the different perspectives and ideas a diverse workforce brings to deliver better outcomes for our patients.
