Job summary Western Road Surgery is a well-established and friendly practice looking for an experienced practice nurse to join us due to the retirement of others within our nursing team. This position is offered on a part-time basis, working 25.5 hours per week on a Wednesday, Thursday and a Friday. For this busy role, we need a nurse who will provide a high quality of services to our patients and be able to support our partners in the day to day management of the needs of our patient population. Main duties of the job You will provide an extensive range of services to our patients, carrying out the following treatment room procedures; Undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments. Undertaking childhood immunisations. Managing and treating long-term conditions, including, chronic disease management of our asthma, COPD and diabetic patients Supporting and managing the health needs of women presenting for sexual health and contraception, and cervical cytology consultations. Wound management. Providing and evaluating a range of health interventions to ensure that patients health and social care needs are met. General health and well-being promotion as well as creating individual, person-centred plans for patients with, or at risk of, a long term condition. About us Western Road Surgery has a practice list size of 12,600 with six GPs, three practice nurses and a full and supporting primary healthcare team.
