About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Leader to join our team as a Country HR Manager overseeing both the UK region, with an additional focus on our small US team. As part of a critical growth phase, you will help drive our evolution and contribute to building new business ventures, while also enhancing existing operations across these key markets. Your role will be vital in shaping the employee experience and offering expert HR guidance that supports our business objectives across both regions.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with managers and employees throughout the employment cycle, offering expert advice and coaching across a broad range of HR areas. This is a generalist role, covering the full spectrum of HR responsibilities including talent management, organizational design, and transformation. You will be the primary HR resource for the UK & US and will report to the International HR VP. You will also work closely with the centralized HR team, leveraging their support when needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic HR Support: Advise and coach key stakeholders on HR practices related to recruitment, performance management, talent management, compensation, and policies, ensuring alignment with the requirements of the UK market, with an additional focus on the US market as a secondary responsibility..
• Compliance & Employment Law: Ensure that all HR practices comply UK labor laws and regulations, keeping up to date with legislative changes and advising on best practices to remain compliant across both regions.
• Data-Driven HR Strategy: Use HR expertise and data insights to continuously support managers on people-related matters and drive informed decision-making across teams.
• Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with the Director of Recruitment to develop and execute hiring plans tailored to the unique needs of the company
• Immigration & Relocation: Provide support on immigration, visa sponsorship, and international relocations for the UK, ensuring smooth transitions for employees moving across borders.
• Onboarding & Induction: Lead the onboarding process in both regions, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for new hires as they integrate into the company.
• Absence & Sickness Management: Manage absence and sickness cases effectively, ensuring they are handled in accordance with company policies and regional regulations.
• Annual HR Processes: Support managers with performance management, L&D initiatives, reward and recognition, and maintaining HR databases. Ensure alignment with company goals and compliance with local regulations.
• Disciplinary & Grievance Handling: Handle disciplinary and grievance cases with a fair and consistent approach, ensuring adherence to local employment laws and union agreements where applicable.
• Project Management: Lead and manage people-related initiatives as part of a global HR team, ensuring alignment with the broader strategic goals of the company while accounting for region-specific considerations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, aligning with company values in both regions.
Qualifications
• HR Expertise: Demonstrated generalist HR experience with in-depth knowledge of UK employment law
• Growth Experience: Proven experience in an HR role supporting businesses through growth phases, with particular emphasis on start-up or scaling environments.
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholder groups across the business, from leadership to employees in different regions.
• Commercial Acumen: A commercial mindset with a focus on driving HR initiatives that align with business goals and priorities in both markets.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a start-up or scaling environment, where policies and procedures are continuously evolving.
• Resilience: Ability to manage ambiguity, change, and challenges with a flexible and positive attitude.
